This is the palm that lines the avenues, the resorts and sub-divisions here in Florida. When it is young it is sometimes referred to as a "pineapple palm" as it resembles the pineapple. It grows to about 40' in cultivation, but this one is approx. 8" or so. It holds a little tea light in the crown.
